HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Former Colts linebacker Robert Mathis is expected to plead guilty following his 2017 arrest for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Court records from Hamilton County show that Mathis had been scheduled to go to a jury trial Thursday, but the proceedings were canceled.

Mathis is set to enter his change of plea during a hearing on March 12.

Police in Carmel said Mathis was intoxicated when he was found driving on the wrong side of the median near Windermere Boulevard and Bishop Circle.

Mathis admitted to taking shots and a sleeping aid.

Police say his blood alcohol content was .052, which is below the legal standard for drunk driving.
