President Joe Biden signed an Executive Order Wednesday that would “pave the way” for taxpayer-funded abortions.

The order directs Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra to consider advancing “access to reproductive healthcare services, including through Medicaid for patients who travel out of state for reproductive healthcare services,” according to Fox News.

“I believe Roe got it right, and it’s been the law for close to 50 years,” the President said Wednesday. “And I commit to the American people we’re doing everything in our power to safeguard access to health care, including the right to choose that women had under Roe v. Wade, which was ripped away by this extreme court.”

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the order “paves the way for Medicaid to pay for abortions for women having to travel out of state.”

“If you think about it, it paves the way for Medicaid to pay for abortions for women having to travel out of state,” the press secretary said.

“The primary job the president has is to uphold the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America,” WIBC’s Rob Kendall told listeners Thursday. “And this president is clearly in violation of the Hyde Amendment.”

The Hyde Amendment is a legislative provision barring the use of federal funds to pay for abortion, except to save the life of the woman, or if the pregnancy arises from incest or rape.

The president’s position on abortion has rapidly evolved in recent years.

Biden previously opposed taxpayer-funded abortion. He now supports abortion up until the moment of birth.
