East Side Fire and Ruptured Gas Line
INDIANAPOLIS- A home on the city’s far east side was on fire early this morning. A ruptured gas line was also found.
Two people were driving through the Harvest Avenue neighborhood delivering newspapers when they noticed the house on fire. They alerted the residents and helped evacuate 3 adults and one minor out safely. Two dogs and a cat was also rescued.
IFD say that due to strong winds the fire spread to another home. That resident was evacuated safely.
As crews were fighting the fire, the water they were using quickly turned to ice making their jobs even harder.
Citizens Gas was also on scene to stop a gas leak after a gas line was ruptured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
