INDIANAPOLIS— Another business is bringing scooters to the streets of Indy.

Spin scooters will join Bird and Lime, the Indianapolis Dept. of Business and Neighborhood Development said Wednesday.

Indy’s streets and parks have been flooded with scooters since last spring, when Bird and Lime set up shop in the Circle City.

At that time, Indianapolis did not have regulations for scooters. Bird and Lime voluntarily pulled their scooters off the streets while the city worked on a law to keep the scooters from being ridden on sidewalks and trails. The new law also regulates where and how scooters can be parked.

Spin’s website says it was founded in San Francisco in 2016. It has “dockless mobility systems” in cities and campuses across the nation, according to WIBC news-gathering partner WISH-TV.
