LONDON — Wikileaks founder Julian Assange will be extradited to the United States.

The United Kingdom’s Home Secretary Priti Patel has ordered WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s extradition to the United States to face espionage charges.

Assange, an Australian, is accused of publishing classified information leaked to him by former U.S. Army soldier Chelsea Manning more than a decade ago.

Assange has spent years trying to avoid extradition, including spending nearly seven years inside the Ecuadorian embassy in London, until that nation withdrew his asylum.

He has 14 days to appeal the decision.
