CARACAS, Venezuela — Two earthquakes have struck Venezuela, which killed at least 164 people.

A magnitude 7.2 earthquake hit first Wednesday evening. It was quickly followed by a magnitude 7.5 quake, the strongest to hit Venezuela in more than 100 years.

The quakes flattened buildings in the capital city of Caracas and other communities, which left survivors trapped under rubble.
