MONTICELLO, Ind. — Indiana Beach has found new life with a new owner.
Chicago Businessman Gene Staples has purchased the park, according to The Journal & Courier. He’s the president of Indiana Beach Holdings LLC.
The 94-year-old amusement park on Lake Shafer closed in February for financial reasons, and its previous owner, Apex Parks Group, filed for bankruptcy earlier this month.
White County Commissioner John Heimlich says there is still “a detail or two to work out” with the loan agreement. He says the plan is to hopefully open Indiana Beach later this year.
