MOORESVILLE, IN– A former teacher at Mooresville Christian Academy faces a serious charge after an investigation into inappropriate conduct with a student.

Jacob Wessel has been charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. The investigation began when the stepmother of a 13-year-old student reported Wessel had sent her stepdaughter inappropriate text messages.

The victim admitted to texting with Wessel since September 2024 and claimed that he provided her with Marijuana and Adderall. Wessel also expressed romantic feelings for the victim in the messages, leading to his arrest warrant.

According to court documents, a deputy with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a possible sex offender case after a woman reported that Wessel had sent an inappropriate text to her 13-year-old stepdaughter back in January of 2024. Court documents show that another deputy followed up on this case on January 14th of this year.
