Police: Terre Haute Motel Shooting Suspect May Be in Country Illegally

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.–The man who is accused of shooting and killing another man in a room at the Candlewood Suites in downtown Terre Haute Monday night, may be in the country illegally.
Wilson Chavez, 30, is charged with murder. The victim has been identified as Jaime Munoz.
The two were co-workers, working for a contractor in the city.
Police believe Chavez killed munoz inside the room, moved his body away from the door, then left. He was arrested near the scene at Wabash Ave. and 7th St.
Chavez has denied the charge.
Terre Haute Police are working with federal agencies, including the FBI and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
