Indiana Fever Win OT Thriller Without Clark

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Fever opened the 2025 WNBA preseason with a 79-74 overtime win over the Washington Mystics on Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse — without Caitlin Clark on the court.
Clark, sidelined with what she called “just a little tightness” in her left leg, went through warmups but didn’t play. It’s the first game she’s missed in her college or professional career.
Sophie Cunningham led Indiana off the bench with 21 points. Lexie Hull added 13.
The Fever head to Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Sunday for a sold-out preseason matchup against the Brazilian National Team — Clark’s return to her college home.
Tickets sold out in just 37 minutes, with resale prices averaging $670. Fans are traveling nearly 250 miles to see her play back in Iowa.
Clark became a household name at Iowa, breaking the NCAA all-time scoring record. As a WNBA rookie, she set a league record with 337 assists and notched the first two triple-doubles by a rookie.
