INDIANAPOLIS–Four people were shot and one of them was killed on the northeast side of Indianapolis Tuesday afternoon.

The shooting happened at approximately 12:15 pm in the 3500 block of Wallace Avenue near East 38th Street and Emerson Avenue. IMPD Captain Shane Foley said all four people involved appeared to be men.

“One was deceased inside a house, one is in critical condition, and two are in stable condition,” said Foley in a Tuesday afternoon press briefing.

Foley emphasized the need for the public’s help in searching for suspects.

“Whether that’s someone who saw something, people who have video cameras that recorded the incident or saw the suspects leaving the scene, we’re asking for that help,” said Foley.

They think at least one suspect ran away from the scene.

“What we find in this type of situations is that when witnesses come forward, we’re more likely to identify the person or persons responsible in this type of crime. We’re hoping that happens in this situation as well,” said Foley.
