Community leaders urge mayor to address homelessness crisis
We can agree there are people who are homeless who actually want help and we as a society want to help. There’s there, there, there’s no question. Can you imagine that they had to write a letter to the mayor? That the mayor of Indianapolis is so completely detached from handling things in the city that they have to write a letter asking for help from the mayor, who quite literally has a homelessness czar, the mayor’s leadership Council on homelessness. We don’t need councils. We don’t need one more study group. Do we? … We have figured it out Indianapolis. There is no leadership, there’s only weakness. Window dressing to shut you up, and we have elected officials who accept this, civic leaders with their names high on the buildings who accept this. They don’t say anything. That’s no way to lead. I don’t know if they’re gonna hear anything. I don’t know if anything’s gonna come with this. No idea. I do know this, as sure as, as I’m sitting here, if you think Joe Hogsett can do something about homelessness, if you think he has a plan and I, and I say this with all due respect, you’re not smart enough to drive. You shouldn’t be allowed to operate heavy machinery. That’s how insane you are. You think Hogsett can help? You think Hogsett can do? Stop embarrassing yourself and start demanding better leadership in other ways. You can’t wait for him. You got to force him or walk around him.
