Audience Laughs At Sen. Warren's Question To Hegseth
Audience Laughs At Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s Question During Hegseth Confirmation
Tuesday was Day 1 of President Trump’s cabinet picks’ confirmations.
Pete Hegseth, an Army National Guard veteran and former Fox News host, is the first of the cabinet to go through the confirmation process for Secretary of Defense. Like most confirmations for conservatives, the Left chose to grill the candidate on past personal mistakes along with hypotheticals.
Democrat Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island asked right off the bat about the term ‘jagoff.’ Sen. Tim Cain kept asking about Hegseth cheating on wife nearly a decade ago. Sen. Mazie Hirono even accused the candidate of drinking at work. However, the biggest ‘palm-to-the-face’ moment was when the audience LAUGHED at Sen. Elizabeth Warren after she put her mouth so far in her mouth it was comical.
Sen. Warren really thought she had Hegseth when she started questioning him on his stance of serving in the defense industry.
“You are quite sure every General who serves should not go directly into the defense industry for 10 years but you’re not willing to make that same pledge?”
Without hesitation, Hegseth simply pointed out one major problem with her insinuation. “I’m not a General, Senator.”
The room full of onlookers in the Senate Armed Services Committee all couldn’t help but chuckle.
Even Sen. Coach Tuberville, who was next to question Hegseth, mocked Warren. He opened his questioning up with a little joke of his own. “General Hegseth… I mean Mr. Hegseth.”
Needless to say, confirmations have started off pretty much as expected.
