Funeral Home Becomes First in Ohio To Get A Liquor License

Evergreen Funeral Cremation and Reception in Columbus, Ohio is going viral for becoming the first funeral home to acquire a liquor license in the state.
The owner says they want to serve mourners in a new way.
“My role in this position is to kind of be a party planner for the dead. Be more of a celebration of life than more of the multi-day traditional services, which cost a lot of money.”
The funeral home is hoping to go against the sad stereotypes of a traditional service and give people a chance to celebrate the life of their loved ones in a new light.
They plan to open their doors early next year.
