STATEWIDE--Dry weather will be a part of Indiana’s forecast for the next few days, but that is likely to change this weekend.

“We’re looking at a system arriving Saturday night and sticking around through Sunday,” said Aaron Updike, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

Updike says all of Indiana should be ready to see rain at some point Saturday and Sunday, but he’s not entirely sure on the amount of rain.

He’s also urging you to watch out for fog if you live in places like Lafayette, Kokomo, Bloomington, or Columbus.

“They might see some patchy fog that could linger into the morning commute, so be sure to take precautions and give yourself a little extra time to leave early,” said Updike.

Temperatures have been changing a lot in Indiana throughout the day, so picking something to wear may not be easy

“It might be best to dress in layers in the mornings because that’s when we’ll be chilly. Then later in the day as it gets warmer, a tee shirt could be fine,” said Updike.

Rain got heavy at times on Tuesday night.

“Across most of central Indiana, we got around an inch to a little more than two inches so that mitigates the drought from worsening, but we still did not bust any drought due to that rain. It helps, but drought will still continue even with this rain,” said Updike.

Many places in northern Indiana are in severe drought while places further south of there are either in moderate drought or abnormally dry.
