AVON, Ind. — Swensons Drive-In closed in Avon less than two years after opening.
The Ohio-based chain opened its first Indiana restaurant in February 2023, which was near the Costco on U.S. 36.
If you try to call the Avon restaurant, you’ll hear an automated message confirming the closure, thanking the local community for its support, and noting the hard work of their team.
The message also says that Swensons plans to expand in the Midwest and to return to Indianapolis.
Swensons is looking for more information about when they closed.
Swensons, which began in Akron, Ohio in 1934, is famous for its burgers, handspun milkshakes, and vintage-style walk-up car service, where there’s no indoor seating.
