Stephen A. Smith Calls Obama Out For Guilting Black Men into Voting For Harris
Stephen A. Smith has a few things to say to Obama after the former president called out Black men for not supporting Kamala Harris.
Last week President Barack Obama spoke to a forum of Black men in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania about the importance of the upcoming election. He told the undecided voters that he finds his “brothers” specifically finding excuses to not support the Democratic presidential nominee.
“…we have not yet seen the same kinds of energy and turnout in all quarters of our neighborhoods and communities as we saw when I was running. Because part of it makes me think – and I’m speaking to men directly – part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that.”
He went on to lecture,
“I’m sorry, gentlemen, I’ve noticed this, especially with some men who seem to think Trump’s behavior – the bullying and putting people down – is the sign of strength,” adding “I am here to tell you that is not what real strength is. It never has been.”
These comments did not sit well with ESPN host Stephen A. Smith. He called Obama out during his show this week stating how unacceptable this move was.
“I’m going to say it again. Respectfully, what you said is not acceptable. Not to me. Not to a host of Black men out there – who’s not even thinking about voting for Donald Trump. What you said is unacceptable. What ever happened to disagreeing without being disagreeable, President Obama?”
The Harris campaign has launched their new “Opportunity Agenda for Black Men” as Election Day closes in. The push to appeal to younger diverse men comes from the shrinking number in the polls. NBC news reported, “An estimated 90% of Black men voted for President Joe Biden in 2020, but a new New York Times/Siena College poll showed 78% planning to vote for Harris now, with 15% supporting former President Donald Trump.”
Looks like the guilt-tripping from the extreme left is finally starting to backfire.
