PERU, Ind. — State police have been searching the Wabash River in Miami County for the last five weeks. It’s believed the search is in relation to the murders of Abby Williams and Libby German in Delphi back in 2017.

Observers say the search started right at the Nickel Plate bridge in Peru and has progressed about 400 yards up the river in the last month.

Every day, weather permitting, the team from state police gather in a parking lot near the river, change into wetsuits and get into the river.

The searchers have placed poles topped with red flags as they moved along the river.

The searches began around Aug. 19. That’s the same time that court records show Kegan Kline was released to the custody of state police, in a court order originally sealed from public view. The court order did not specify the exact reason for the search.

Kline is facing child pron charges in a separate case. He’s the man believed to be behind the “anthony_shots” online profile used to lure underage girls. Libby German is said to have had contact with the profile before she died.
