“We have someone who is better than Trump. Way better than Trump,” is what Alex Jones recently said during an Infowars broadcast when referring to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. He went on to say that “DeSantis has just gone from being awesome to unbelievably good,” and that he could see “real sincerity” in DeSantis’ eyes when watching footage of the lawmaker.
In February 2021, the Justice Department and FBI began investigating whether Jones played a role in the storming of the Capitol. Earlier this month, a jury found Jones liable $45.2 million in punitive damages owed to the parents of a Sandy Hook shooting victim. He had been sued for defamation after claiming that the shooting was staged.
Given Alex Jones’ tumultuous and controversial reputation, will this endorsement hurt DeSantis?
