Wanda Sykes is the latest celebrity to publicly condemn the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

While appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Friday, the comedian expressed her frustration with the widely controversial overturn of Roe vs. Wade. Sykes accused members of SCOTUS of lying to the American people.

“The country, it’s no longer a democracy, right? It’s no longer majority rule. These judges, they basically lied during the confirmation hearings, right?”

Tony Katz points out that the United States has never been a majority rule.

“We’re a Republic, not a democracy…a society that engages in civility where the majority doesn’t murder the minority.”

However, that’s not the biggest issue Katz has with Sykes comments. As she continued her conversation with Colbert, she blamed the Midwest for SCOTUS’ ruling.

“The problem is that middle stuff. It’s the states in the middle, that ‘red stuff.’ Why are they telling us what to do? When the majority of us live out in, ya know, New York, California- and we are paying for all this crap, really.”

What Katz takes from that is Sykes wants middle-America to just grow her food and shut up, clearly believing they shouldn’t have a say.

“That’s some dictatorial stuff right there. Remember they (the elite left) hate you, they hate you for your existence. They hate that you exist. They hate that you have a say. They don’t believe you should have a say. They don’t believe you have anything to offer.”
