Federal Prosecutors Charge Ex-Colts Player Daniel Muir

INDIANAPOLIS — Former Colts defensive tackle Daniel Muir is now facing federal charges in a case that has already led to state charges against him.
Muir was booked into the Pulaski County Jail this week. Federal court records show he is accused of making false statements when acquiring a firearm and to a licensed firearms dealer.
The federal charges were filed in May and remained sealed until Muir was taken into custody.
Muir is also facing state charges of domestic battery and obstruction of justice tied to the 2024 disappearance of his teenage son.
The teen disappeared in June 2024 after his grandmother reported he had a black eye and swollen lip. The boy told investigators his father caused the injuries.
Authorities found the teenager about three weeks later during a raid on a property in Logansport. A Silver Alert had been issued during the search.
Muir and his wife, Kristin, were arrested after the teenager was found. Kristin Muir is also charged with obstruction of justice.
The state case is still pending, with a trial scheduled for September.
