INDIANAPOLIS — Another USS Indianapolis survivor has passed away.

A.C. “Tony” King died peacefully in his sleep on Monday at age 94, according to the USS Indianapolis Facebook page.

King served aboard the USS Indianapolis beginning in October 1944 and was on the bridge the night the ship was torpedoed and sank in July 1945.

After the war, King “went on to live a hard, but adventure-filled life, traveling the world and impacting all those he came in contact with,” according to the USS Indianapolis Facebook page.

With King’s passing, there are now only eight living survivors of the USS Indianapolis.
