SPEEDWAY, Ind. — With the Indianapolis 500 postponed until August due to the coronavirus, that means there is no Carb Day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway today.

Some fans usually show up to watch the Pit Stop Challenge and the Indy Lights Freedom 100 race. Some fans go to the track for the Miller Lite Carb Day concert, which was supposed to feature REO Speedwagon and Styx this year. Most fans show up to the track just to have a “few” beverages.

Although they can’t do it at the track this year, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is still encouraging fans to celebrate Carb Day, and the entire Memorial Day weekend, at home. If you’re throwing your own party with friends and family, you’re being asked to share photos and videos on social media using #500AtHome. If you are wearing IMS or any other racing apparel, you can post a photo using #500Fashion.

IMS will also be posting videos and highlights from previous years throughout the day on their social media accounts.

In downtown Indianapolis, Monument Circle will be celebrating the Indy 500 all weekend long. Every day at noon, you’ll be able to hear the National Anthem, followed by Jim Cornelison’s rendition of “Back Home Again in Indiana.” Every night this weekend, Monument Circle will light up with Indy 500 graphics and project them onto the IPL Building and Circle Tower, while playing signature sounds like “Taps.”
