INDIANAPOLIS — Indy Metro Police have arrested the person who allowed their dog to freeze to death and then threw the animal away in an east side dumpster.
IMPD found a dead female dog inside a dumpster on E. 10th Street on Wednesday, Jan. 30.
The dog’s owner, Gordon Turentine of Indianapolis, was arrested Friday.
According to IMPD, Turrentine admitted that the dog was a female named “Remy” and did belong to him.
He told investigators that he found Remy frozen to death inside her dog house on Wednesday morning and then placed her in the dumpster.
Turentine was charged with animal cruelty and issued citations for improper care and treatment and unlawful disposal of an animal.
He was taken to the Marion Co. Sheriff’s Office lockup, processed, and released.
