HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. — A fatal crash in Hamilton County killed two people late Friday night.

It happened in the 26600 block of southbound US 31 in northern Hamilton County just after 11 p.m.

Witnesses of the accident say a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt was changing lanes when it fishtailed before leaving the roadway and striking a tree.

Coltin D. Heath-Brumfiel, 23, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.

The passenger, 25-year-old Meghann K. Clement was trapped in the car.

She was wearing her seatbelt, but that didn’t stop her fatal end.

Both were pronounced dead on the scene.

It is unclear if Heath-Brumfiel was wearing his seatbelt.

Toxicology tests have been issued to determine whether or not alcohol was a factor in the accident.

Those results are pending and could take some time.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact Hamilton County Public Safety Communications at 317-773-1282.
