DEARBORN COUTNTY, Ind. — Seventeen middle- and high-school students from Dearborn County were hurt Wednesday morning when their school bus rear-ended a trash truck.
It happened at around 7:30 a.m. on State Road 350, according to Indiana State Police.

Debris from the crash hit the driver of the garbage truck, Brian Rumpke. He was hurt, but his injuries were not life-threatening.
The bus driver, Raymond Nies, was taken to a hospital for treatment.
ISP said there were 22 students on the school bus. Seventeen of them were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
A 13-year-old boy was trapped inside the bus after the crash. He was freed from the wreckage and taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. ISP said his injuries were serious but not life-threatening.
