INDIANAPOLIS — A priest for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis who was suspended in February is now facing child sex charges.

Father David Marcotte, who was most recently a chaplain for Roncalli High School and the University of Indianapolis, is charged with child solicitation, vicarious sexual gratification, and dissemination of matter harmful to minors.

Court documents say in 2016 and 2017, Marcotte would send sexual photos to the 15-year-old victim on Snapchat and would masturbate to the teenager on Facetime.

Before he was a chaplain at Roncalli, Marcotte had various ministry roles in Greenwood, Brownsburg, and Martinsville.

In a statement, the Archdiocese of Indianapolis said it has cooperated with the investigation and has prohibited Marcotte from all public ministry as the investigation continues.
