Attorney General Rokita Accused of Mocking LGBTQ+ Community

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita is accused of posting on social media about mocking the LGBTQ+ community on April Fools’ Day.
In Rokita’s social media post on Facebook, he is seen standing next to a Pride flag, and he made an “April Fools” joke about taking down the “Come And Take It” flag and replacing it with another.
The “Come And Take It” flag is involved in the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment. The amendment is about the right to bear arms.
The oldest LGBTQ+ community center in the state, Pride Lafayette, is telling Rokita to apologize for his actions.
Pride Lafayette says the rainbow flag was made in the late 1970s to represent pride and social movements.
