INDIANAPOLIS–If you’ve been following the story about sexual harassment going on at the City-County Building in Indianapolis, you should be aware of an investigation being paid for with tax dollars.
City-County Council minority leader Michael Paul Hart tells WIBC’s Hammer and Nigel Show that an investigation committee has been formed and they’ve decided to spend money to hire out some professionals, though he doesn’t believe that will do much good.
“There’s a handful of counselors on there and what they did is they spent essentially $150,000 to come and investigate the City of Indianapolis and what the mayor’s office did is they hired another local law firm to sit in the middle of that,” he said.
He said the result of that arrangement is that anytime the council’s law firm asks for documents from the mayor’s office, the mayor’s team gets to review it first.
He said the mayor’s team can decide what to send and what not to send.
“From my perspective it looks like it’s been a big waste of taxpayer dollars for something we already know what’s happening. Thomas Cook came out and said, this happened. He admitted to it!” said Hart.
Hart said he feels it will likely end up being a waste of nearly $200,000.
