KOKOMO, Ind. — While investigating a homicide, Kokomo police discovered a man who had been confined for more than a week.

On Monday night, Kokomo police responded to a call of shots fired and discovered a woman’s body in the backyard of a residence in the 700 block of South Courtland Avenue.

She has since been identified as 25-year-old Lashay Young-Beard of Kokomo.

While checking out the residence, police then discovered a 24-year-old man tied up in the bathtub. Police say he had duct tape on his mouth and was bound at the wrists and ankles.

He told police he had been confined for the last 11 days. He also claimed he was burned by hot water by the suspects, who he knew.
