BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—The Indiana Hoosier men’s basketball team lost to the Maryland Terrapins on Sunday 79-78.
The Hoosiers overcame a 10-point deficit to take a five-point lead with just over two minutes left at 75-70. From that point on, they were outscored 9-3 the rest of the way.
Rodney Rice (23 points) hit what would end being the game-winning three-point shot with seven seconds left after Trey Galloway missed the front end of a one-and-one free throw.
The Hoosiers had one last chance but Myles Rice (16 points) missed a long three-pointer at the buzzer.
Maryland made 12 of their 24 three-point shots. Indiana nailed 7 of their 17 three-pointers.
The game had 9 lead changes and 3 ties.
Indiana drops to 14-7 on the year and is now 5-5 in Big Ten play.
