KOKOMO, Ind. — An elementary school in Kokomo is canceling classes for Monday, after it was damaged by storms Friday.
Winds and rain impacted some of the roofing and caused water damage at Taylor Elementary School. So, the school corp. has determined that Monday will be a “waiver day” for elementary students.
According to a Facebook post by the Taylor Community School Corporation, crews are helping address water damage and “button up the roof” this weekend. More in-depth construction projects will begin later.
Classes are expected to resume Tuesday, with students staying clear of areas in need of maintenance. But, teens will have to wake up as normal Monday, as the middle and high schools were not damaged.
