Indianapolis Government Is A Cesspool, And Democrat Joe Hogsett Is To Blame For All Of It
For nearly ten years, Joe Hogsett has been the mayor of Indianapolis. The culture of harassment and ignoring it in city government is his doing? WIBC.com has the story:
You have yet another employee of the city fired for a violation of the City of Indianapolis workplace harassment policy. Of course, that’s the issue here. Well, you have the former deputy mayor, the former chief of staff, Thomas Carl Cook, three different women accusing him of impropriety, of sexual impropriety. Job threatening… the whole thing. He, of course, says, well, maybe I wasn’t, you know, perfect. Sure, Thomas Carl Cook has long been known by this show to be a creepy guy on unwilling to allow interviews to take place with the mayor when he was chief of staff would send out odd tweets and then of course, not only photo bombing me in an event at A at a Pacers game. But there’s the picture of him while Hogsett’s eating pizza and he’s giving the finger to the camera.
This is exactly what he thinks of you… Three different women and Joe Hogsett does nothing about it. Allegedly there’s an intern, an investigation took place in 2017. We’d like to see proof of that investigation. And knowing that this was Thomas Carl Cook, Joe Hogsett hired him back to help with his reelection campaign. This guy went on to work at Bose Law firm and I’ve been asking the question “Did Joe Hogsett recommend Thomas Carl Cook? ” Three different women and saying that there was sexual impropriety and there is, from what we’re hearing, more. Although I need to see that laid out right? What are their stories? Did Joe Hogsett recommend Thomas Carl Cook to the Bose Law firm? Did he recommend them? And did he let Bose know of the sexual impropriety? Bose has since let Thomas Carl Cook go. Well, now you’ve got this… evidence supporting allegations of sexual misconduct as reported here against someone named Matt Pleasant. I don’t know who Matt Pleasant was or is, formerly the administrator of the Division of Current Planning. And he has now been let go. And you’ve got Hogsett putting out statements like we are not going to tolerate this and we’ve signed an executive order to do something about this. Yeah, I, I spoke earlier about how Ryan Martin of Mirror Indy said congratulations Indianapolis, we’re now the city of written statements as opposed to giving interviews from the mayor.
Well, that’s because the journalists in Indianapolis don’t demand the interview. You don’t put a microphone in front of his face. You’ve let them be in charge because you were happy to let them be in charge, even if you never said it proactively. That is what you were saying when you never went for the for the hard interview, when you never put the microphone in his face, when you never challenge the city. When they said, hey, we’ve got breakfast with the mayor’s pencil and paper only, you can’t record the conversation. None of you should have ever showed up. We said so on this show, numerous times. No one should have showed up. We will decide how we talk, and we will decide whether or not we record it. You’re the mayor. If you’re in your home, I don’t think people should be banging down your door. If you’re working, you will get asked a question on camera or on tape. You don’t get to decide. But the journalist of Indianapolis. Never went along with that. They never demanded it. What they went along with this, let’s not bother him, he’s on our side. With all due respect, you’re guilty and you know it. Now the question is, what do you do with it? Right? That’s the question. You’ve proven through this investigation regarding Thomas Carl Cook, a Hogsett former chief of staff, that when you want to engage in the journalism, you can, you can be successful. And some people have asked Joe Hogsett questions like Russ McQuaid or over there at FOX 59.
Now it needs to be all of you every day because what we have here is a full-on scandal. And that scandal starts with the understanding that for nearly ten years, Joe Hogsett has been the mayor, and this is the culture that he created, and the Democratic Party of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana have backed. This is what they voted for. This is what they protected. This is the guy who created a culture where women are are simply unsafe in city governments. If you are a woman in city government and first of all, can we define what a woman is? Yes, we can. You will have somebody creeping on you because that’s the Joe Hogsett way.

10 years. It’s his culture. And not only is his culture the allowing of harassment, what his culture really is. It is about looking the other way.

His culture is not one of accountability. If it was one of accountability, we would learn why we allowed the city to burn for two nights during the riots. Hell, we would learn where Joe Hogsett was for two nights of riots. But there is no accountability and why? Because the journalist class in Indianapolis never once demanded it. We’ve been trying to cheer you guys on for a decade. For 10 years I’ve been here. Trying to cheer you guys on to do the right thing. And in this investigation you started, you really started. Good on you. Don’t stop now. Joe Hogsett has been allowed to get away with this and has been allowed to look the other way and has created a culture of harassment and city government because nobody has held him to account. We have here at WIBC on a great number of subjects. Guys, this is on you. You and the Democratic Party.
