IMPD SWAT Involved in Fatal Shooting

LAWRENCE, IND — Indy Metro Police shot and killed a man during an incident with SWAT officers at the Park Terrace Motel.
Police were serving a narcotics warrant on a room. When they entered, there was a struggle over a weapon, which led to the shooting.
“The suspect was transported to an area hospital where he has since been pronounced deceased,” said IMPD Sergeant Anthony Patterson. “You will notice a large police presence in the area for a while.”
The IMPD SWAT team and Drone Unit are on the scene. Drivers and pedestrians should avoid the area.
