New Kensington, PA — Indiana Congressman Jim Banks attended a rally with Ohio Senator JD Vance, the Republican vice-presidential nominee running with former President Donald Trump. Pennsylvania is a key battleground state that could play a decisive role in the upcoming November presidential election.
“I know JD Vance, and unlike Tim Walz, JD Vance is the real deal,” said Banks. “He served our country in uniform. He is an actual veteran of the war in Iraq.”
Banks talked about Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who is running with Vice President Kamala Harris on the Democratic ticket. Some former military colleagues claimed that Walz lied about his service record, raising doubts about his military background.
Banks encouraged people to vote for Trump and Vance, highlighting Trump’s success in maintaining peace in the Middle East.
He also criticized the Biden-Harris administration for pulling out of Afghanistan three years ago, leaving behind allies and billions of dollars worth of military equipment.
“I believe it’s one of the most embarrassing moments in American history, and it happened on Kamala Harris’ watch,” Banks said.
Harris told CNN three years ago that she was the last person in the room when the decision to pull out of Afghanistan was made. On the day the U.S. left Afghanistan, 13 American service members were killed by a suicide bomber.
