MITCHELL, Ind. — A southern Indiana man was arrested Wednesday after police caught him trying to flush his drug stash down the toilet.
Police in Mitchell received a tip that 58-year-old John Jones was dealing methamphetamine in and around the area, according to Indiana State Police.
Officers got a search warrant for Jones’ home on West Frank Street. When they arrived, they caught Jones trying to flush meth down the toilet.
The effort was unsuccessful and police found an additional four grams of meth in Jones’ house, along with drug paraphernalia and evidence of drug dealing.
Jones was arrested and faces charges of dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with a prior conviction, possession of a hypodermic syringe, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstruction of justice.
