INDIANAPOLIS — It was another violent night across the Circle City as six people were shot at various places across Indianapolis in the last 24 hours. One of the people shot was killed.

Police were first called to a home at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon about a person who was shot at a home along Mitthoeffer Road between 21st Street and I-70 on the east side.

“When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from injuries consistent with a gunshot wound,” said Ofc. Michael Hewitt. “The adult male was pronounced deceased by IEMS at the scene.”

Later, a little after 10:00 p.m., another person was reported shot in the area of 42nd and Brentwood just east of Post Road on the east side.  An hour after that another person was shot in the Spring Hill neighborhood on the west side between 46th and 38th Streets.

No suspects to speak of in either of those shootings.

At around 11:30 p.m. IMPD officers got the call about a person shot along 30th street between Ritter and Arlington Avenues on the east side. Hewitt said that person was awake and breathing when they got there.

Not far from there two other people were shot along 16th street just west of Emerson Avenue. Their conditions are not known.
