Person Dies After Police Chase Ends in Tippecanoe County
TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. — A person died after leading police on a chase from Carroll County into Tippecanoe County Sunday night.
Indiana State Police said Delphi police stopped a Chevrolet Trax around 9 p.m. for a traffic violation near U.S. 421 and County Road 200 North. The driver took off, leading police into Tippecanoe County.
Officers used tire deflation devices to stop the vehicle near Old State Road 25, but the driver stayed inside.
Police used a drone to check the vehicle and found the person dead. Investigators believe the person died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation is ongoing. The Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office will release the person’s identity and official cause and manner of death.
