WHITE COUNTY, Ind. — A man in White County arrested while making what it seems to be a beer run.

Indiana State Police say they got the call from White County dispatch that a man may be driving drunk and soon after they said a Ford F-150 had crashed into the Brookston Spirits Liquor Store along State Road 43.

“Senior Troopers Jerrad Foutch and Tyler Stinson arrived on scene and observed the male driver, identified as Michael Stowers of Valparaiso, crawling out of the vehicle,” said Trooper Stephen Grayson. “Medical personnel were called by the troopers, but Stowers refused medical treatment on the scene.”

Stowers also refused to comply with a field sobriety test. So the troopers go a warrant for a blood test. The results of that blood test are pending, but troopers say there was enough for them to book Stowers into the county jail for refusing a sobriety test.
