FAYETTE COUNTY, Ind. — Investigators say they may have found “positive indications” of human remains south of Connersville in Fayette County.

According to the The Fayette County Sheriff’s office, the remains were found at Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary south of State Road 44 between Rushville and Connersville.

Officers say it is still too early to tell if the human remains are those of Denise Pflum, who was last seen leaving her home in southern Fayette County on March 28, 1986.  Her vehicle was later found in southwestern Fayette County and she has not been seen since.

State Police say Pflum was wearing a red Motley Crue T-shirt, striped blue jeans, old tennis shoes and a silver class ring and a gold ring at the time of her disappearance.

Officers say they have closed off area for their investigation.
