HANOVER, Ind. — A woman was arrested on Wednesday after her six-year-old daughter was killed in a crash.

The crash happened on May 13th before 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 256 and U.S. 31. Two cars collided after 25-year-old Dorothy J. Snell sped through a red light. Indiana State Police reported that Snell’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was above the legal limit of 0.08%, which means she was legally impaired to drive.

The daughter was not in a booster seat. She was taken to a hospital, where she later died. Three others survived the crash.

Snell is facing several criminal charges, including driving while under the influence, neglect of a dependent, causing death, and additional charges. She was also taken to the Scott County Jail.
