MARTINSVILLE, IND– There’s new developments in a case involving a former Martinsville substitute teacher.

Brittany Fortinberry who now faces a staggering total of 41 charges after prosecutors added a dozen more, including incest and child molesting.The latest charges detail severe allegations of sexual abuse against two additional minors.

Fortinberry, a former substitute teacher for Martinsville schools, already faced 29 counts, including child molesting, sexual misconduct with a minor, dissemination of matter harmful to minors and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.The investigation into Fortinberry’s began in August 2024 after a 15-year-old victim’s grandmother told police that Fortinberry molested the teen, sent nude pictures and drugged him.

Fortinberry remains in the Morgan County Jail awaiting trial.
