Authorities say two people in a car were traveling on US-40 eastbound, and four people in a car were traveling on US-40 westbound. The car traveling westbound failed to yield, and they crashed into the car of two people.

The female passenger, who was in the car traveling eastbound, was taken to the hospital, but she died on the way.

The driver of the car traveling westbound, Tiffany Poole, was taken to a hospital to get blood drawn. She was then taken to Hendricks County Jail, and she was charged with driving while under the influence. Blood draw results are pending.
