FRANKLIN, Ind. — Police say they have arrested an Indianapolis man who was wanted in multiple Hoosier counties…but he did not surrender quietly.

Johnson County Sheriff’s officers and Franklin police brought Roderick Bunnell into custody Wednesday morning. He had been wanted in Delaware and Marion counties on theft and drug charges, respectively.

Officers say they found him sitting in an SUV outside of the Johnson County Government Annex, after his girlfriend told them he was there. But, when they told him to get out of the car, he apparently refused.

A “tense standoff” ensued, before officers managed to deploy tear gas through the rear hatch. They had gotten the key from Bunnell’s girlfriend, and he finally got out of the car.

Following this incident, he was also charged with resisting law enforcement in Johnson County.
