VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind.–A man from Newburgh was arrested for driving drunk with both his girlfriend and child in the vehicle Saturday night.

State police say they clocked one driver going 90 mph in a 2013 Ford F-150 on I-69. They have identified that driver as Coleman Sheridan, 28, of Newburgh. They stopped Sheridan near Epworth Road.

When they looked inside the vehicle, police say they found beer cans with alcohol in them. Sheridan failed sobriety tests after showing signs that he had been driving impaired. His blood alcohol content was .09%. The legal limit is .08%. 

Investigators say Sheridan’s girlfriend and one-year-old daughter were in the vehicle. Sheridan was arrested and taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail.

He has been charged with the following:

-Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated with a Prior Conviction, Level 5 Felony

-Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated – Endangerment, Level 6 Felony

-Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated with a Passenger less than 18 years of age, Level 6 Felony

-Reckless Driving, Class B Misdemeanor
