Sen. Lindsey Graham is facing major pushback from both sides after encouraging Russian citizens to assassinate President Vladimir Putin.
The South Carolina Senator made the call to action late last week stating only the Russians “can fix this.”
All corners of Washington, from Conservatives to Democrats, are condemning Graham’s dangerous statement.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked about the Senators comment during a press briefing where she denounced the whole statement.
“That is not the position of the United States government. And certainly not a statement you’d hear from — come from the mouth of anybody working in this administration”
Tony Katz agrees Graham made a huge mistake.
“The US should not be pushing for the assassination of Vladimir Putin… I’m not saying the death of Vladimir Putin isn’t something that shouldn’t happen…I just don’t think it should be coming from government officials. I think that is a tremendous mistake. It pains me to say the administration is right, but the administration is positively absolutely right here.”
Psaki said that the Biden administration will continue a diplomatic path forward.
