PERU, Ind. — A student at Peru High School was arrested after making a bomb threat at the school on Friday.
Peru police say the 15-year-old wrote a note saying there was a bomb in the school. Just after noon, students and faculty evacuated to the junior high school.
The high school was then searched by police dogs, and no bomb was found.
The student is charged with two counts of intimidation and one count of false reporting.
Peru was one of several schools across Indiana that reported threats on Friday, and many believe it was connected to a “challenge” on TikTok that called for teenagers to threaten their school on Dec. 17. Other schools, including Westfield schools, had extra police presence on Friday after learning of the social media trend.
