The White House and top disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci appear to have very little faith in the effectiveness of the Coronavirus vaccines.

The Pfizer and Moderna coronavirus vaccines have been an outstanding success by any measure, yet Fauci and the Biden administration have cast doubt on when Americans can expect a return to our maskless “life as usual” routines.

Fauci said Tuesday that “America’s New Normal” after the first round of COVID-19 vaccinations is delivered depends on a number of unknowns, and he cautioned against sound bites promising a return to how life was before the coronavirus pandemic.

When asked whether Americans will still be wearing masks in 2022, Fauci told CNN’s Dana Bash, “It is possible that that’s the case, and again it really depends on what you mean by normality.”

“If normality means exactly the way things were before we had this happen to us, I mean, I can’t predict that,” Fauci said. “Obviously, I think we’re going to have a significant degree of normality beyond what a terrible burden all of us have been through over the last year.”

Fauci said the rate of new infections would have to plummet “to a baseline that’s so low it is virtually no threat.”

But Coronavirus experts say there is very little chance that can achieve a near-zero threat from the disease and the prolonged shutdown is taking a severe toll on the nation’s economy and Americans’ mental health.

“If you’re not giving people hope and you’re not giving them the idea that this is going to end soon, the mental health of the nation is going to continue to decline,” Fox News medical contributor Dr. Nicole Saphier said in an interview.

WIBC hosts Nigel and Brian Baker discussed Dr. Anthony Fauci’s evolution on masks and a return to normalcy on Tuesday’s broadcast of the Hammer and Nigel Show. Click below to listen.
