Can we circle back to August of 2020 for a moment?

It was your typical, laid-back summer in America…

And lawmakers in Washington D.C. were looking into the FBI’s Russia probe by doing a little probing of their own.

Different kind of probe (and you’ll never be able to watch “E.T.” again).

This blog post is already off the rails, so let’s reset…

It was August of 2020, and lawmakers in Washington D.C. were staying busy by holding Congressional hearings as part of their investigation into the FBI’s Russia probe.

Senator Lindsay Graham (R-S.C.) drew the ire of Democrats during those hearings for “cutting off” former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates during the hearings because Yates is “a woman.”

A pre-White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, a CNN contributor at the time, tweeted in response to Graham’s questioning of Sally Yates:

“only in 2020 does #LadyG get to push a bunch of debunked conspiracy theories while questioning @SallyQYates (aka an American hero).”

The homophobic slur refers to a baseless allegation from a porn start that Senator Graham regularly solicited male prostitutes who dubbed him “Lady G.”

Former Trump administration official Richard Grenell – the first openly gay cabinet member to serve in a presidential administration (Sorry, Pete Buttigieg) – has called on Psaki to apologize to the gay community for her tweet.

“This is the type of demeaning language we should all be against,” Grenell said in his tweet “This isn’t partisan.”

The More You Know: A South Carolina Democratic Party volunteer referred to Graham as “Lady G” in a text message sent to a prospective voter in 2020. Democrats later condemned the “homophobic language,” and told media outlets it was not part of their official campaign scripts.

The More You Know About Homophobic Tweets From CNN Contributors: Jen Psaki didn’t get the memo.

The Biden Administration is really knocking it out of the park on the whole “unity” thing, don’t you think?
