“DIXIE THE PRAYING DOG” & her best friend BRIAN CALVERT from Camby are participating in the adventure of their lives! The new Amazon Prime Series called “The Pack” begins streaming at midnight, and Brian and Dixie were selected to compete in challenges across the globe. The Pack, is a new global unscripted series that celebrates the unrivaled bond between dogs and their human companions.
Brian drives trucks, and “Dixie”, is a beautiful 5-year old Blue Tick Coonhound that serves as a therapy dog. She loves kids and our military. She’s called the “Praying Dog” because on command, she kneels down on her front legs, bows her head and prays for anyone that asks. I’ve seen her bring tears to to the eyes of some of the toughest in uniform. She and Brian have raised money for Indy Honor Flight for many years.
Brian says “Dixie gave me purpose after losing 3 dogs in a fire 8 years ago, and then a year later, spent 10 days in the hospital following a hunting accident”.
Earlier this year, Brian & Dixie had the chance to compete in “The Pack” against 11 other dogs and their owners in challenges all over the world. “We traveled in private planes, and Veterinarians were with us the entire time, making sure the dogs had the best care…safety was the number one priority. I never dreamed I’d be able to travel the world with my dog!”
The winner of “THE PACK” takes home half a million dollars, with $250,000 going to their favorite animal charity. Brian & Dixie competed for The Central Indiana K9 Association.
The 10 episodes of Season 1 are hosted by Olympic gold medalist skier Lindsey Vonn. I’m such a fan of these two, and can’t wait to see how they did when “THE PACK” begins streaming on Amazon Prime Video November 20th!
